Waste Services

The Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority provides numerous waste services throughout the counties of Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga, Pennsylvania.

LANDFILL - The Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA) owns and operates a state of the art landfill (Landfill #2) in West Burlington Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. Landfill #2 is situated on an 88.3 acre tract of land.

CONSTRUCTION/DEMOLITION LANDFILL - The present day NTSWA Construction/Demolition (C/D) Landfill is situated on a 263.5 acre tract of land located in Hamilton Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.

BLOSSBURG TRANSFER STATION - With the closure of NTSWA Landfill #1 for municipal waste disposal, there was a need for transporting these wastes from Landfill #1 to NTSWA Landfill #2 in West Burlington Township, Bradford County.

WELLSBORO TRANSFER STATION - TATS (Wellsboro Transfer Station) is located in Delmar Township, Tioga County along US Route 6, west of Wellsboro, Pa. It is currently owned and operated by NTSWA.

RESIDENTIAL/COMMERCIAL WASTE SERVICES - Residential collection is based on the Pay-As-You-Throw system and is currently $4.00 per bag for most locations. This system utilizes stickers that are placed on the bags purchased by the homeowner.

NTSWA offers roll-off container services for both residential and commercial purposes. Sizes range from 12 to 40 cubic yards and are available to the NTSWA service area of Bradford, Tioga and Sullivan Counties, Pennsylvania.

For commercial businesses only, NTSWA offers rear load containers that range in size from 1.5 cubic yards to 8 cubic yards. If your business does not generate a lot of waste, garbage totes and/or bag pickup is also available. Please call to start service.

MUNICIPAL WASTE SERVICES

Street Sweeping - The Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority operates a street sweeping program, for both private and public entities.

Municipal Cleanups - The Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA) conducts both spring and fall clean-ups for municipalities throughout the three-county service area.
