The Northern Tier Solid Waste Authority (NTSWA) operates two recyclable processing centers for the collection, processing, and marketing of recyclable materials from Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga Counties, Pennsylvania. These centers are located at the NTSWA Landfill sites in Bradford and Tioga Counties. (See Landfill Operations)

Hours

The Recyclable Processing Centers in West Burlington Township Facility, Bradford County and Hamilton Township, Tioga County are open to all haulers and residents Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am to Noon.  The Recycling Buy Back Program currently buys back aluminum cans on  Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.  Recyclables can be dropped off on Saturday, however, the buy back is not open.

Materials Accepted

The following materials are accepted by NTSWA at the Recyclable Processing Facilities. Residents should check with your local drop-off or curbside recycling program for details of what their program accepts. (See curbside and drop-off listings.)

PREPARATION

Aluminum Cans

Make sure cans are empty. Rinse if necessary. Separate from other cans.

Glass Bottles and Jars

Remove all lids and rings; Rinse well; Separate by Color; (clear, brown, & green). Labels can remain on. No windows, cookware or lightbulbs.

Newspaper

Bundle with string or put in bag. Do not mix shiny paper. Keep dry.

Steel (Tin) Cans

Rinse and secure lids inside. Labels can remain. Separate from other materials.

"1" PET Plastic

Look for #1 recycling symbol on the bottom of the container. Remove lid and rinse if necessary. Recycle only bottles and jugs.

"2" HDPE Plastic

Look for #2 recycling symbol on the bottom of the container. Remove lid and rinse if necessary. Recycle only bottles and jugs.

Corrugated Cardboard

American made cardboard only. Look for corrugation ridges. Flatten box and keep dry.

Magazines

Separate from other paper. Bundle and keep dry.

Office Paper\ Junk Mail

Sort out office paper, junk mail, glossy inserts, coupons, fax paper, envelopes, etc. Bundle and keep dry.

Clothing and Textiles

Includes clean clothing, curtains, towels, sheets, socks, shoes, hats and belts. Place in plastic garbage bags and keep dry.
